ADVISORY · A SERVICE THAT RUNS ON THE PLATFORM

Independent BESS advisory - sized, simulated, structured.

Senior advisor at the table. Around 20 years in energy. Every mandate runs on SIMULA, so methodology stays consistent from a 120 kW real-estate study to a single-digit-MW utility-scale review.

What we do

Four kinds of work, scoped per engagement.

Energy-flow and load-profile analysis. 15-minute interval analysis of consumption, generation and grid exchange. The starting point for any BESS business case - and often the point at which the case changes shape. Run on SIMULA so the output feeds the dispatch simulation directly.

Behind-the-meter business case. Peak shaving, demand-charge reduction (the highest-15-minute-power driver of BTM economics in Switzerland), self-consumption optimisation alongside PV - modelled on the actual load profile, not a typical-day approximation.

Front-of-meter business case. aFRR (automatic frequency restoration reserve), mFRR (manual frequency restoration reserve), wholesale arbitrage. Each revenue line modelled on its own and as part of the stack, including how dispatch competes with the BTM use of the same asset.

Investment-grade study with permitting. Full business case - NPV, IRR, payback, sensitivity bands - paired with a permitting roadmap, technical review of third-party BESS offers, and tender specifications when the project goes to procurement.

A Service that runs on the Platform

Advisory is not a standalone consulting line. It is one of the two Services that feed the GridSphere Platform.

Every project runs on SIMULA. Same engine, whether the engagement is a 200 kW real-estate study or a single-digit-MW utility-scale review. Same dispatch simulation, same financial-assessment outputs, same export format. The asset stays naturally attached to the platform once operational.

Independent of any OEM. GridSphere does not represent a battery manufacturer. The hardware choice is the buyer's project, not a captive line-up. When the analysis leads to a Supply order, it's a separate engagement, priced separately. No hidden margin baked into Advisory.

Deliverables you receive

At the end of a typical mandate you receive five things:

  • A technical-financial report with the SIMULA dispatch simulations and the full revenue stack
  • An executive presentation of the findings
  • A sensitivity-modelled Excel of the underlying business case
  • An implementation roadmap with milestones and KPIs
  • Tender specifications when the project moves to procurement

Engagement size: typically CHF 1K to CHF 15K per mandate, depending on scope.

How a mandate runs

Three phases, scoped at the start.

Phase 1 - Energy-flow and feasibility (1–3 weeks). Load-profile analysis, first-pass SIMULA sizing, an early read on whether the case is worth pursuing.

Phase 2 - Business case and structuring (2–4 weeks). Full revenue stack on SIMULA, sensitivity bands, financial assessment, executive presentation.

Phase 3 - Permitting, tender or hand-off to Supply (project-dependent). Permitting support, DSO coordination, tender specifications. If the project moves to hardware, a separate Supply engagement begins.

What happens after the report

When an Advisory mandate leads to an investment decision, the resulting asset is naturally hosted on the GridSphere Platform for its 10–15-year operating life. Reporting, dispatch optimisation and trader access run from there - same business case the asset arrived with from SIMULA.

We earn when your asset performs in the long run, not just when we sign.
